Is it over yet?

My beloved tennis site HKTennis.com is forced to shut down after persistent attack by hacker (cracker?) on the server. I am not sure whether a particular website or domain on the server attracts the repeated attacks, or it is just about a particular user. After running for most than 2 years, this tennis hobby site has brought me great fun and satisfaction. However, it has come to a certain point that I feel a bit bored and upset. After the departure of our one-and-only-one voluntary web editor, I was left all by myself to do all the updating work. Absolutely zero revenue from either advertisement, donation and other sources. Taken into account of my other obligations to my family and my job, I think it is not unreasonable for me to take a break. Afterall, I am not a system administrator, I can’t possibly do all these “system rescue” every other day and keep failing the expectation of all visitors. Maybe, some time later, I will re-open the site and see if that cracker will come again.

You don’t need brains to be a Boss

When the body was first created, all the parts wanted to be Boss. The brain said, “I should be Boss because I control all of the body’s responses and functions.” The feet said, “We should be Boss since we carry the brain about and get him to where he wants to go.” The hands said, “We should be the Boss because we do all the work and earn all the money.”

Finally, the asshole spoke up. All the parts laughed at the idea of the asshole being the Boss. So, the asshole went on strike, blocked itself up and refused to work. Within a short time, the eyes became crossed, the hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic, and the brain fevered. Eventually, they all decided that the asshole should be the Boss, so the motion was passed. All the other parts did all the work while the Boss just sat and passed out the shit!

Moral Of The Story: You don’t need a brain to be a Boss—-any asshole will do.

How to install Windows XP in 5 hours or less

On a mac site I came across a link to this article How to install windows XP in 5 hours or less today. I am impressed! Not by the technical side of this article, but by the exceptional patience of the author! I am also suprised by the fact that I myself had gone through tens of hundreds of these steps without realizing how unreasonable they were! I also learned some new terms: half-life and logarithmic curve.
