Australian Open 2004

Agassi in Australian Open 2004 One of the best ways to keep your hunger and senses without playing is watching others play. With a break for nearly a whole month, I hope I still remember how to hit the ball by watching the Australian Open, my coach Ricky is the commentator on Cable TV (channel 62). This year my all-time favourite Agassi was knocked out by Safin in the semi-final. The score 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (8-6) 5-7 1-6 6-3 showed how stunning this match was. Steffi Graf was there watching too, I really miss her!!

Now I am watching the Men’s Doubles Final while writing this. The Bryan brothers look cute but I guess experience counts. As expected, Henin-Hardenne takes the title on the Ladies’ side. For the Men’s Final, I’d like to see Roger Federer wins, reason? Revenge for Agassi! Just a few more hours from now, I will be on court playing tennis myself! Yeah!!!

Happy Chinese New Year

It’s getting colder and colder here in Hong Kong, I don’t like putting on lots of clothes every day but I have to admit that this really adds to the holiday feel. My Chinese New Year programme is as usual - I don’t think it has changed since I was born. We went out for meals more than before though, it is cheap to eat out nowadays, the quality of service has improved tremedously as well. The movie we went to this year was Brother Bear, the kids enjoyed it very much but I found it a bit boring when compared to Finding Nemo. My stomach has become quite sensitive these days, so I eat much less, don’t send me any chocolates or candies, I am not tempted…no….

Return from Beijing Trip

Great Wall, Beijing, ChinaHello!!! I am back!!! How are you all? After a 5-day trip in Beijing, I feel GREAT! Beijing was really really … cold, the temperature was always below zero degree, it even started to snow on the last two days! It’s a nice trip, I ate a lot and walked a lot, I also tried skiiing for the first time, man, I am going to get addicted to that… actually there was broadband access in the hotel room, the only thing I did online was checking the TV schedule on ESPN for ManUtd’s match, my trip would be perfect if I had switched off my mobile to block the few calls. I had shot a little DV and hundreds of photos, give me a few weeks to get them organized and posted here. Cheers!!!

Taking a break finally

Mr. Simon Wong's birthday Not including the sick leave, this is the first holiday I have in year 2004. I will be leaving Hong Kong for a 5-day Beijing trip today 8 am. Fortunately there isn’t any really urgent matter to follow these days (touchwood!) and hopefully my break will be without a lot of phone calls. I am much indebted to my colleagues for picking up the work from my to-do list, surely will bring back more souvenirs! Besides, here is a pic of the birthday dinner with Mr. Simon Wong, my F.3 class teacher, and other alumni. Tomorrow is my old buddy David’s birthday, happy birthday David! Offline for now and see you again on Sunday night!

Gastroenteritis

I was really looking forward to a great weekend two days ago, I badly miss the tennis and the New Year Party! After the big feast prepared by my grandma at home on Friday night, I felt so sick that I crawled out of my bed at 4 am and began vomiting. Then I discovered that my brother fell sick too, having similar symptoms (later my sister too). There must be something wrong with the food we ate, we had little energy to think about it and finally went to the doctor at noon. The doctor diagnosed as “Gastroenteritis”, we were given some pills and injections. Then I slept for another 12 hours, feeling too weak to go to the tennis and party at night (yes I knew what I have missed!…). Not until last night I felt alive again. What’s the culprit? The BBQ, the lunch or the iced crab dinner? Seems that every one else is fine… just in case if you feel sick later (and you ate with us), please let me know, I am terribly sorry!
