Au revoir, Andre

Agassi and Graf at the Ball after Wimbledon in year 1992 On my way home after a humiliating league game defeat last night, the radio news reported that Andre Agassi was knocked out in the first round of the French Open by a 271st-ranked French qualifier Jerome Haehnel. That only added to my grief. Agassi is a true star in the game, with all his counterparts from the same glorious era faded out, he is still there - playing and winning at the highest competitive level. I would never forget a Nike poster stuck on a wall at the staircase of my primary school featuring the long, brown hair Agassi smashing a double backhand with his tight bike pants at Roland Garros. It was year 1987, I was in Primary 3. Twelve years later in 1999, Agassi was crowned the Champion on the red clay and became the first man in the open era to have won all four Grand Slams after capturing the US Open title in the same year. In the following year, he married my favourite and the greatest female tennis player of all times - Steffi Graf.

With his early exit this year, I feel much less interested in the rest of the matches. Steffi, Andre, Pete, Michael… I miss you a lot!

Checking out new digital cameras

Sony DSC T-11 Digital CameraI am using an Olympus C-40Z digital camera which I bought in early 2002, I am quite happy with it except the battery life being too short, and SmartMedia cards are becoming obsolete. Recently I have been checking out new digital cameras for myself but there still isn’t anything exciting to me. After I looked at a Sony T-11 today at the 298 computer mall, I tried to read more about it on the Sony Japan site, then I discovered that T-11 has been temporarily halt for sales due to a body paint issue. Here is the original Japanese notice and the translated English one. Quite a shock to know that, then I found that Sony HK has already made the notice on the same day. I didn’t spot any notice at the camera shop, I think they should be aware of that and stop selling this model.

Happy Mother’s Day

Mother's day 2004 Under mom’s strict commands (obviously no option today), I finally packed up the winter clothes and switched all to the summer ones! The summer has probably come already, when we arrived at Po Toi O at around 6 pm, it was still sunny and a bit hot. Po Toi O is located in Clear Water Bay, next to the golf club. We had a very tasty and affordable seafood dinner there, I am sure I would go there again despite the long journey! Check out the photos.

Work has been going well and less hectic with help from additional staff, I even managed to find some time for a few movies like Kill Bill Vol.2 and Jiang Hu. So how did you spend your weekend?
