Just got the email from apple online store today, my copy of Tiger is shipped! Hopefully I will see it tomorrow when I arrive office. Lately I have also made a few other purchases: DEVONthink Personal Edition for US$40, Design In-Flight Issue Four for US$3 only. I am also going to purchase the 4-issue subscription later. Very great read indeed.

My team just won our first match in the summer league tonight, beating SCAA (South China Athletic Association) 5-0 at home. I can’t thank enough for the weather, for both yesterday and today. It started raining in many areas in Hong Kong before the matches kicked off, but our courts were only covered by thick clouds. When we almost wrapped up the game (winning 5 out of the 9 matches), the rain began to downpour finally. I was all wet though with a big smile on my way home.

Congratulations to my teammates Vivian and Amy for making it to the Ladies’ Doubles Finals at the Hong Kong National Tennis Championships. Although they lost in the Finals, it’s a great achievement, especially for Vivian who was also the runner-up in the Mixed Doubles event. I saw them play at the Victoria Park Centre Court today for a while before joining my coach for some fun, social tennis at the Hong Kong Sports Institute. We had a wonderful time, after the tennis we went to Lei Yue Mun for seafood dinner. There were fresh fish, scallop, prawn, oysters, sea urchin … and a bottle of red wine brought from France. I had four glasses and now I am feeling very full and sleepy.

As the host of HKU Mac User Group, it’s my great pleasure to be invited as one of the speakers to talk about switching to Apple for the students and alumni of the HKU Master of Science in Electronic Commerce and Internet Computing (ECom-ICom) Programme tonight. Big thanks go to fellow Mac fanatic Jackson for making this talk possible (and giving me an amazing souvenir), and fellow speaker/colleague Bill for his excellent presentation. I hope every one enjoyed it and there will be more occasions like this to come. Check out the photos.
Just ordered Tiger today!

Shocking … Adobe is going to acquire Macromedia. I am praying that Adobe won’t kill Fireworks, it is the web graphics software I can’t live without. Dreamweaver should be safe, I hope Adobe will help making it less buggy and sluggish on Mac. What’s next? Apple buying Adobe?

Would getting a new gadget like PSP make me happier? Yes, definitely. So I ordered one through the Private Initial Booking at Sony HK. What’s next? Waiting for its arrival (12 May) and getting a sync software. Who else out there got one to play against me via Bluetooth? If you got a tennis game on your PSP, this is your only chance to beat me in tennis!

After 3 hours of non-stop tennis at the University, I am so exhausted that I could fall into sleep anytime. This week is so tiring. I have so much to do at work that I don’t think I could clear my task list even if I work for another 4o hours over the weekend! My mind was off from work stuffs for a few hours when I was hitting the ball tonight. Now I am back to reality, staring at the computer and getting more and more anxious. Thanks for Ricky’s help, my home PC is finally working after I plugged in another USB wireless client, it seems that it is more like a Windows issue than any other thing. While the new network-attached storage (160GB) is working fine too, I started thinking about upgrading the home wireless network to 802.11g to improve the overall file transfer speed.

One of the major reasons for switching to Mac two years ago was that I got too fed up with all those Windows problems. I really really hate spending my time on tackling endless viruses, bugs and compatibility issues, instead of being creative and productive. I am very happy that I made the right choice for myself.
Unfortunately, that does not mean I am free from these nightmares. There is still one Windows PC that I must deal with - my home PC, which is used by my sister, someone whom I can never say no to. Yesterday she finally decided to get a new machine (yes, Windows again!) because her PC kept rebooting automatically every few minutes from time to time.

This is not April Fool joke: I got my first-ever health screening report from the Baptist Hospital today, seems I am quite healthy. My BMI is only 20.46, total cholesterol 4.36, HDL cholesterol 2.16, LDL cholesterol 1.84, triglycerides 0.37, all things are functioning well … the doctor explained that everything is good and I should keep it up. The Ultrasound Heel BMD shows my bones density is normal, but she emphasized that I should keep exercising and obtain as much calcium as I could at this age because female tend to suffer from a lack of calcium as age increases. Even if she didn’t say that, I would always exercise as much as I could! Still, I should try to sleep earlier and drink more water.
