Since the dramatic Champions League Final on 25 May, I couldn’t fall into sleep before 5 am, and it doesn’t help by making myself work late, I just don’t feel sleepy at all, damn!

Since I got my site migrated to WordPress, the RSS feeds never worked. There was the same SQL syntax error from both wp-rss.php and wp-rss2.php files. After months of googling on WP forum and other places, I still had no clue. Thanks to my new friend Ian, it’s so fast and smart for him to figure that out right away. The cause was a blank value in Syndication Feeds in Admin Options, everything works now after I have input a value! Why not try it out? RSS feeds for entries and comments.

Wow!!! We beat CRC (Chinese Recreation Club) at their home courts tonight! It meant a lot to us because CRC was ranked 3rd last season, and we never beat them before. Put it in football terms, it is like Bolton beating Manchester United!

Well, maybe we are a little bit better than Bolton - we were ranked 4th last season, but I always feel that there is a big gap between the first 3 teams and the others (just like the English Premiership). It was an under-strength opponent team, as their best three players are resting due to pregnancy. We knew that this would be our best chance to beat them and I am very glad that we seized the chance.

Feeling that I don’t look sexy enough with one of these on tennis courts? Then it’s time for more gym visits and a new sport: Beach Tennis.

Imagine a mix of tennis and beach volleyball. Well, then I will be playing tennis for the first time in bikini.

A few projects are approaching the deadlines so I just had my first sleepless night in three months. Worked until 9 am this morning and got 3 hours of sleep before going back to work. Usually I kept eating snacks (junk food) to stay awake, but my growing belly is warning me, so I just had 2 litres of fresh orange juice last night. Warm regards from friends living in other time zones and interesting projects are always my driving forces. This is one of the things I did last night.

Three years ago when I switched from Windows to Mac, I had to find Mac programs which could at least do what could be done on Windows, typical ones like web browsing, email, IM and office suite were fairly easy to find, and most of them were already included in OS X (except Microsoft Office, of course). A good replacement FTP program, however, was hard to come by. I remember the most popular FTP program then was Fetch, which I never got due to its poorly-designed interface and website (generally I judge a product’s quality first from its website design). So I was amazed when I found Transmit, which was and still is a killer FTP client for Mac. It’s simple, pretty and affordable. I had no hesitation to buy the license and today I just upgraded to version 3 for only USD17.95. There are so many new features that I haven’t had time to discover, I am convinced that this company really makes Shockinly good Mac software. P.S. I haven’t had time to play my newly-arrived Sony PSP too!

Not very often I talk about my work here, there are things that I can’t tell, or I don’t want to tell and I prefer to keep my blog more personal. Today I feel like sharing a bit on this “unknown side” of me.

My little web studio is now growing and I get busier every day. Going from one to two to three and now back to two persons in these 18 months, I figure that it’s time to hire again. Rather than finding a programmer, I badly need a designer this time to share my workload. Eventually, I hope I could focus on sales and marketing, and our team will grow to 5 or 6. Tell me if you know someone who likes to work with me.

For tennis, I haven’t played much and am thrilled to have just joined a morning league team (Hong Kong Jockey Club in Fanling) with my friends Vivian and Wendy. When the next season starts, I will play on Friday mornings. Yes, Friday! That’s why I need more helpers … LOL!

Probably had too many oysters over the weekend, I fell sick this morning and spent the whole day on bed. The Roma Final between Nadal and Coria last night was simply superb, I think watching something that thrilling and terribly long (5 hours 14 minutes) while working at the same time made my stomach even worse. After 10 hours of rest and washroom visits, I got my energy back again in the evening. Despite the heavy rain, I badly needed a breath of fresh air so I went out for dinner.

• Internet connection at home broke down yesterday but revived today.
• Broadband TV available again but Agassi lost in Rome.
• Had a nice lunch buffet but had won nothing in practice matches.
• Tiger makes my computer run faster but it can’t help with my ever-growing workload.
• Got a 20% discount at dinner but the food was 100% worse than usual.
• Enjoying home alone for a few days but there is nothing to do but work.

Work, work, work …… What’s left? Who’s left?

Finally upgraded to Tiger on my PowerBook last night:

• Verifying installation DVD: 20 mins
• Preparing disk: 15 mins
• Installation: 30 mins
• Spotlight Indexing: 45 mins
• Migrating mailboxes to new Mail.app: unknown - too sleepy and went to bed

Waking up this morning to use a new operating system has been fantastic. The overall performance is improved, and nothing is broken after the upgrade. So far so good!
