Amy and CT’s Wedding

The Bride - AmyYet another pretty lady taken! My dear tennis teammate Amy is married to CT today, congratulations to this perfect couple! Amy is just extraordinary - she is intelligent, caring, beautiful, athletic … and a fantastic tennis player and friend to be with. What makes this couple even more special is their shared passion for the sport of tennis. CT, who is also my “Si Hing” in St. Stephen’s College, Stanley, is an avid tennis lover and our team have so much fun playing with him. The wedding service took place at the Chapel in our mother school this afternoon. I wish them all the best and eagerly look forward to their making of a tennis genius for our third-generation team! After the ceremony, our team had the annual hairy crab feast at night, I had three huge crabs and they were the best I’ve ever had!

Victoria Harbour Tour

There are things that you don’t do as a local Hongkonger - like taking a digitally-printed photo at TST corridor and touring around Victoria Harbour on the “Shining Star” ferry. Today I did both, with a legitimate excuse. You know, I was just trying to BAGH when my friend visits Hong Kong. :-)

It turned out that I enjoyed it very much too, all things were great except the air pollution and excessive harbour reclamation. Seriously, we must do something about it!

Holly and Bernard’s Wedding

Today is my good friend Holly’s big day, she is married to Bernard, whom she met in Wisconsin, USA, after she left our school St. Stephen’s College and dated for more than 8 years! They are now both back and reside in HK, congratulations! Every one had a great time today and I’m honoured to be part of it as one of the bridesmaids and “IT coordinator / webmaster”.

Last match in Winter League

Dinner after last league match against RecreioWe beat Recreio 8-1 tonight at home, and this marks the end of our winter league season. We have a very good team indeed, and a regular one. Our core players were able to play all five matches (luckily there weren’t too many!) and with our new blood who brought in the extra strength and energy, I was always convinced that we could make the first runner-up spot in the Winter again. It was such a pleasure to see them play, either as a player (yes I know I should be focusing on my own match) or as one of the audience. Two enjoyable seasons in a row, and what is better than wrapping it up with a win followed by a nice dinner?

Knocked out

I’ve been dreaming about this since 13: to have my parents, coach and friends to come watch me play in a tennis match.

This dream finally realized on November 6, 2005, and I won that match, barely. The score was 9-7, I was 1-4 down and only started to hit the ball comfortably after then. I could have played better and won 8-4, anyway I was very happy I pulled it off without good preparation for the match.

Cirque du Soleil - Quidam

Cirque du Soleil - QuidamSeriously, if you are now in Hong Kong but not planning to see Quidam (Nov 3 - Dec 11), you are going to miss something really nice!

The world renowned Cirque du Soleil is now on tour in Hong Kong, I missed the “O” show in Las Vegas earlier in January so I wouldn’t miss this one. As every one said, it’s a great show. I just went to it tonight, my friend and I enjoyed it very much. We were very lucky to have bought the last-row seats in the VIP zone for $600, I think there are still tickets available, go get’em now!

p.s. If you’re going, don’t be late because the shows starts on time

CRC Open 2005

I’ve entered two events at the CRC Open this year: Mixed Doubles and Ladies’ Singles. Having lost in the first round for the Mixed Doubles, I have a bit of luck to get a walk-over win in the Singles as my first-round opponent did not show up. My second round match will be played at 5:45 pm today, on my sister’s birthday. Happy birthday to Peggy!

It’s all about work lately, but I never feel I work hard enough! There are a few things coming up. First, it’s Cirque du Soleil: Quidam. I’m really looking forward to it, and going to see it for the first time this coming Thursday night. Second, it’s Holly & Bernard’s Wedding on Nov 19, I put together this wedding site as a gift and will be responsible for running the photo slideshow (using iPhoto!) at the banquet.

Last but not least, I badly need a vacation since I haven’t taken any proper one since January’s USA trip (and that wasn’t relaxing at all). Going to Tokyo for five days with family in mid December, just after my birthday. Desperately looking forward to it … and any birthday celebration.
