Palm Island Resort
It wasn’t easy to disconnect myself from Internet access, in fact I couldn’t remember when was the last time I didn’t check email for two consecutive days! I think my body, my PowerBook and my Blackberry phone all deserve this short weekend break at Palm Island Resort. Bernice and I went to this nice resort in Huizhou, China, to recharge ourselves with a spa treat and brief golf adventure.
We stayed at the Waterfront Villa, with a huge balcony overlooking the 18-hole golf course. All villas are very well-designed (by HK interior designer Kenneth Ko) and I wish I got a better camera to capture the surrounding lotus flowers.
Feeling extremely lazy, we ordered room service for our dinner. Yes, that cheese burger was mine.
We could only eat and sleep on Saturday due to the bad weather. That one-hour table tennis game could hardly help burn any calories we consumed. Then we further spoiled our body by going to the Spa.
The terrestrial rain finally stopped after we left the Spa, just an hour before we had to board the returning coach! Without any hesitation we went to the driving range on the golf course and had a few swings to complete this journey. Too bad our tennis racquets were unused after all. Hopefully next time we’ll pick a sunny weekend!
No, I didn’t drive one. I felt lucky for that decision, because Bernice almost crashed one into another cart on our way to the golf driving range. Thanks to her 14+ years experience in driving, we survived!
