Trying out new apps

Getting tired of searching for the perfect accounting app, I finally settled for MYOB for Windows, which cost me HK$3,900. Why Windows version? Because it is much more stable and feature-rich than their Mac counterpart! How ridiculous is this. I know. So I forced my brother learn how to use it and do all the book keeping for me. ;-)

Though I still haven’t given up the idea of writing one for my own use. Seems this new app is quite interesting, and this one is closest to what I want, but this one never got released. Would Panic consider making a simple accounting app? I know it is 100 times less cool than Coda (which I’m going to buy!), but accounting app is as indispensible as our development app!

Brother returns

My younger brother Henry has just returned home for good after studying 4 years in Sydney. He obtains a bachelor degree in Economics & Finance from the Macquarie University and the whole family is thrilled to be re-united again. It was a very tough day for me at work but driving to the airport to pick him up was nothing but enjoyable. 2007 should be a very good year for fresh graduates, hopefully he will dive into the real business world very soon and find a rewarding job.

My first sport injury

sprained ankle reference

Around 45 minutes into my usual weekend tennis practice, I suffered my first sport injury in sixteen years tonight. I am not sure if it’s my worn-out shoe or just genuine lack of fitness/strength, I sprained my left ankle suddenly during a very usual sideway movement at the baseline. The pain was just UNBEARABLE. I fell onto the ground cringing and crying in pain.

Seconds later every one on court came up and attended to me. Being very fortunate, my mates are all experienced in general sport injury like this and one of them is a doctor, so I was being very well taken care of. According to my symptoms, I believe it’s only a mild sprain and no ligament tears, hopefully.

Considering this is my first injury since I started playing tennis at 13, I have no complaint whatsoever. Injury is part of the game, for both pros and amateurs, so I’m taking it as an inevitable event in life and learning how to deal with it - and prevent it from happening again.

Guess nobody would be interested in seeing my swollen ankle so I’m not going to upload a pic here … ;-) Going to see a 跌打 doctor recommended by my mates tomorrow, and I target to recover fully in two weeks!
