Intro

Welcome! You should have known me if you get into this place. No? OK, Belle means beauty in French, believe it or not, no one knew this meaning when I was given this name, so don’t be disappointed when you see me.

There are not many “Belle Liu” on the web and I have yet to find one in Hong Kong. So I am proud to be the only Belle Liu in this little place. Where is Hong Kong?

About this site

Belleliu.com is about me. I write about anything that I like to write, something that maybe too silly, too boring, too technical, too personal … for some people. For those who know me, I hope this little space helps keep us in touch; for others, I hope you will find it at least a bit interesting or useful.

My first personal website was built in 1997, and this domain started operating in 1999. Contents before 2003 are not online anymore.

Getting to know Belle

I was born and educated in Hong Kong, I went to St. Stephen’s College, Stanley and then Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong, where I obtained a LLB degree and worked as an IT Officer for two years.

Currently, I am working full-time for my own web design studio - BeansBox as the Development Abstraction Layer.

Being a typical Sagittarius, I am extremely addicted in many things. I love all kinds of sports especially tennis and football (soccer for the Americans). Design is my life-long passion, I love web design, interface design and interior design. Also movies, history, architecture and all kinds of electronic gadgets.

I enjoy web surfing, reading, travelling, programming. When I am not missing my fitness lessons, I have as much coke, chestnut, mango, potato, cheese cake, ice-cream and sweets as I could. You can see how much I love eating from my blog entries.

Generally, I am the type of broad-minded, optimistic, philosophical, friendly, open spirited and exploratory person. I am always in need for change and variety. I work to please myself; I love sweating and sunshine. I can’t drive, sing, cook, drink, dance or kill a cockroach, but I can write, draw, run, fix computer and make quick noodles.

If there is anything I hate most, that must be fakes. Be yourself, just don’t fake!

These things also bother me a lot: smoking, dead air, gossiping, cold weather.

If you want to scare me, show me snake, cockroach, deep water or scary photos, guaranteed that you will be black-listed immediately.

As I grew up in Stanley, a popular tourist spot, I am more than happy to advise on travelling / shopping / eating tips for anyone visiting Hong Kong.
