Intro

Welcome! You should have known me if you get into this place. No? OK, Belle means beauty in French, believe it or not, no one knew this meaning when I was given this name, so don’t be disappointed when you see me. Belle is pronounced as bell, not belly.

To those not familiar with Hong Kong: Hong Kong is NOT part of Japan, and it is not even close to Japan! See a brief about Hong Kong. Hong Kong is not a country, it is a SAR (Special Administration Region) within China, just like Macau.

Belleliu.com is about me. I write about anything that I like to write. My first personal website was built in 1997, and this domain started operating in 1999. Contents before 2003 are not online anymore. This site is hosted on Media Temple and running the latest stable version of WordPress, the most popular blogging software.

About Belle

I was born and bred in Hong Kong, and never lived abroad (though I fancy that). I went to St. Stephen’s College, Stanley and then Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong, where I got a LLB degree and worked as an IT Officer for two years.

Currently, I am working at a cool, boutique-style web design studio in Hong Kong – BeansBox as the Development Abstraction Layer.

As a typical Sagittarius, I am addicted in too many things. I love all kinds of sports especially tennis and football (soccer for the Americans – hey, if you use hands, it shouldn’t be called football, OK?). I love web design, interface design, movies, history, architecture and all kinds of gadgets. No, I don’t mind being called a geek.
